Terms of service
For the Tavo app, the dispatch service behind it, and this website. Last updated October 30, 2026.
Agreement
These terms are an agreement between Tavo LLC (“Tavo”, “we”) and the company that opens a Tavo account (the “company”, “you”), and every person who uses Tavo under that account. By creating an account or using Tavo you agree to them, and the person who creates a company’s account confirms they may agree for it. Our privacy policy and security policy are part of these terms. If a company has a signed agreement with Tavo, that agreement wins where it differs.
What Tavo is, and is not
Tavo is software that helps transportation companies book rides, dispatch their own drivers, keep records and get paid. Tavo is not a transportation provider, a broker, a dispatcher of its own, an employer of drivers, or a party to any ride. Each company provides its own rides, with its own drivers and vehicles, to its own customers, at prices it sets, and is solely responsible for them. When one company sends a ride to another, the arrangement is between those two companies.
Your responsibilities
Each company is responsible for, and promises that it will:
Be licensed and insured. Hold and keep every license, permit, registration and insurance policy the law requires for its business, its drivers and its vehicles, and check its own drivers and vehicles. Tavo’s checks of insurance, licenses, TLC status or document expiry are aids only; they do not replace the company’s own checks, and Tavo does not certify that anyone is licensed, insured, qualified or safe.
Set and charge prices lawfully. Set its own rates, fees, gratuities, discounts and surcharges, including any card or payment-method fee, and make sure they are lawful and properly disclosed where it operates. Fares, tax and fees that Tavo works out come from the company’s own settings and must be checked by the company.
Handle its own taxes. Decide which taxes apply, collect and pay them, and keep the records the law requires. Tavo’s tax lines and reports are a convenience, not tax advice.
Have permission to text and email. Have each person’s consent, as the law requires, before switching on texts or emails to them through Tavo, honor requests to stop, and use texting only for messages about their rides.
Have the right to the data it enters. Enter, upload or import only information it is allowed to collect and share, give any notices the law requires, and answer requests from its own customers and drivers about their information.
Check what Tavo suggests. Review fares, filled-in bookings and documents, flight times, address suggestions, summaries and anything else Tavo works out or reads automatically (including with AI) before relying on it. These can be wrong or out of date.
Keep its account secure. Follow the responsibilities in the security policy, and stay responsible for everything done under its account.
Card payments
Card payments from a company’s customers are made through the company’s own Stripe account, under the company’s agreement with Stripe. The money goes to the company, not to Tavo, and Tavo takes no share of it. The company is the merchant and is responsible for its charges, receipts, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, Stripe’s fees and its obligations to its customers. Tavo is not responsible for Stripe’s service or for any payment, failed payment or dispute.
Tavo plans
A company that subscribes to a paid Tavo plan pays the price shown when it subscribes, in advance for each billing period, through Stripe, until it cancels. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period is not refunded unless the law requires it. We may change prices or plans for future periods after giving notice.
Acceptable use
Do not use Tavo to break the law, send spam or unwanted texts, upload anything you have no right to share, harm or harass anyone, try to get into accounts or data that are not yours, interfere with the service, or copy or resell it. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or does not pass verification.
Outside services
Tavo uses outside services for hosting, texts, email, payments, notifications, flight data, address search, license lookups and AI features. They have their own terms, may change or stop, and are outside our control. We are not responsible for them.
Your data and ours
The company owns the information it puts into Tavo and gives us permission to store and use it to run the service, as described in the privacy policy. Tavo owns the software, its design and its name. We may use feedback you send us without obligation.
No warranty
Tavo is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not promise that Tavo will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that texts, emails, notifications, flight updates or reminders will be delivered or be accurate or on time.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Tavo and its owners, employees and providers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, rides, customers, data or goodwill, arising from or related to Tavo, even if told they were possible. Tavo is not liable for any ride, accident, injury, loss, delay, missed pickup, driver or vehicle, or for anything a company, driver, rider or other company does or fails to do.
Tavo’s total liability for all claims related to Tavo is limited to the greater of the amount the company paid Tavo in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100. Some places do not allow some of these limits, so they apply only as far as the law allows.
Indemnity
The company will defend and hold harmless Tavo and its owners and employees from any claim, loss, fine or cost (including reasonable legal fees) arising from its rides, drivers, vehicles, prices, fees, taxes, texts, card charges, the data it enters, its breach of these terms, or its breach of the law.
Ending
A company can stop using Tavo and delete its account at any time. We may suspend or end an account as described above, or stop offering Tavo with reasonable notice. The sections on responsibilities, card payments, no warranty, limits on liability, indemnity and the law that applies continue after an account ends.
Law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York, and both sides agree to their jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page with a new date, and will tell companies about significant changes before they take effect. Using Tavo after that means accepting the new terms.
